Board of Directors

 

The Board of Directors is the governing body for the Highland Lakes Homeowners Association, Inc.  There are five members, each elected for a particular term: President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer.

The Board, in turn, hires an Association Manager who executes board policy. The Association Manager then selects specialists to carry out those policies: Administrative Assistant & Administrative Secretary,  a Facilities Superintendent, an Association Accountant; and a Homeowners Services Coordinator.

Other individuals are hired to carry out various responsibilities under the direction of the Facilities Superintendent and the Association Accountant.

At the same time, the Board oversees the activities of the many volunteers who provide a variety of functional services to the community. The volunteers are unpaid and are closely supervised by the Board using several standing committees.  Checks and balances are used throughout to ensure compliance to published Board policy.
